Saskatchewan Geophysical Society (SKGS) - Hosted Meeting

This is a collaborative event sponsored by Women Geoscientists in Canada (WGC), Decennial Mineral Exploration Conferences (DMEC) and the Saskatchewan Geophysical Society (SKGS).

“Where the exploration industry is with regards to gender and geoscience readiness”


When and where: Sunday, December 2nd, 2018 4pm to 5:30pm in the Salon Batoche at the Delta Bessborough Hotel, 601 Spadina Crescent E, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. 

Meeting content:

  • The subject of gender in geoscience (focus on exploration) will be examined and the issue of geoscience readiness for people in their early career stage.

  • The event will comprise two talks:

    • “Geoscience and gender; the problems of the past and the needs for the future”

    • “The Frank Arnott Award; a key component of exploration readiness”

  • Talks will be followed by an open forum discussion.

Who should attend:

  • Early career geoscientists are encouraged but everyone interested in geosciences at any career stage is welcome
